I was thinking about making a similar style to the original PD mount but then decided to make one that looks like the one i had in the beginning, even if it means remplacing the tensioner with one that uses spring instead of a shock.

Building the engine mount for PD or newer TDI/1.8T
Cars that use lateral engine mounts instead of 1 front and 2 rear style have a diferent placing for the holes so new mounts have to be done for the engine block and the gearbox.

What do you mean by using a spring tensioner versus a shock type? I am starting a mk1 pd build and your blog is incredibly helpful!

older pd have a shock absorber instead of a tension bearing with integrated spring for the timing belt
